Report on the Mapping of the current situation in the matter of multiculturalism in adult education in Cyprus

Cyprus is an island known for its multinationalism and multiculturalism characteristics. According to research, the island is one of the top refugee receiving country by share of its population in EU, (currently there are approximately 11,000 persons under International Protection and about 13,000 asylum seekers residing in Cyprus). From 2013, when the refugee crisis in Europe started, Cyprus launched the National Programme AMIF funded by the EC and the Republic of Cyprus, with a large number of projects aimed to facilitate the integration in the local community of third country nationals.

The demography of Greece concerns the study of the population of Greece both in terms of statistics and in qualitative terms.  In Greece, censuses examining other statistics as well other than the total population and place of residence are normally conducted every ten years. The body responsible for these, as well as for other censuses of population statistics as well, such as indicators of employment, education etc., is the Hellenic Statistical Authority.

Report on the Mapping of the current situation in the matter of multiculturalism in adult education in Romania

Romania, as a state represents all its citizens, no matter their ethnicity and a peaceful and inclusive society needs to accept and deepened the values of multiculturalism. According to the 2011 Romania national census, excluding the citizens that didn’t offer information regarding their ethnicity, around 11% of the population of Romania is part of a national minority. In Romania, other ethnic communities, with specific cultural, linguistic and religious traditions, live alongside the Romanian communities.

Report on the Mapping of the current situation in the matter of multiculturalism in adult education in Spain

Spanish classrooms have been reflecting during the last years the population change that has been occurring in the country: student groups are increasingly diverse in origin; different nationalities, cultures and religions are mixed in the classes; and the educational system, with teachers at the forefront, has been adapting to the new reality. This situation is also experienced in the rest of the world. Migratory phenomena have been producing multicultural societies and in each of them assimilation occurs with different types of traits.
